4th Annual Workshop on “Micro- and Nanotechnologies for Medicine: Emerging Frontiers and Applications” was held from July 25 to 29 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This school opened up new opportunities and applications in diagnostics, drug delivery, tissue engineering, bioMEMS and biomaterials. Dr.Ali Khademhosseini and Dr. Rahmi Oklu hosted this workshop and the key note speakers were Dr.David Mooney, Dr.Jeffrey karp, Dr.Joanna Aizenberg, Dr.Michael Cima, Dr.Christopher Love to name a few and some industrial people were Jesse Hibbs and Nathan Friedman from WL Gore.

Twenty-fourth annual short course on advances in the science and technology of tissue engineering had speakers from leading scientists from Rice University, Houston, Texas, the Texas Medical Center, industry, and other institutions. This short course was hosted by Dr.Antonios Mikos, the Father of Tissue Engineering from August 10th to August 13th. The course provides the recent knowledge and technologies in the world of patient-specific therapeutics from transplantation of cells and tissues to artificial organs.
