Bio

Rachel is a senior at North Carolina State University. She has grown up in Raleigh and has spent a significant amount of time traveling to Wilmington to enjoy North Carolina’s beaches. She is an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority and spends her spare time volunteering at the SPCA. Rachel is one of three siblings who provide her with most of her inspiration. Van is a mechanic living in the Raleigh area who is a serious metal fan and Anna is a freshman at UNCG, studying architecture.

Collection Description

Rachel’s collection, Makai, is inspired by 70s Venice Beach, with a focus on creating comfortable swimwear for athletes. This comes from her time swimming at Wrightsville Beach, kayaking, and cliff jumping in Falls Lake. With movement and quality in mind, her collection will consist of mesh inserts, neoprene, and lycra blended fabrics.
