Collection Title: Bonnie and Clyde

Bio

In the third grade, Mallorie declared she wanted to be a Fashion Designer when she grew up.  She drew clothes with her friends at school and even created “mini-magazines”.  Mallorie taught herself to use a sewing machine when she was around the age of 11; however, it wasn’t until high school that she truly fell in love with sewing and design.  She was part of a wonderful apparel program in high school and competed at both the State and National levels of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) in Fashion Construction.  This past Spring Semester Mallorie was able to participate in the Disney College Program in Orlando, Florida as a Costuming Intern.  Being a member of the Inaugural Class of the Fashion and Textile Design Program at NC State has been a wonderful experience for Mallorie.  This program has given her many opportunities to make life-lasting friendships, learn from extremely talented faculty members, and greatly expanded her skill set.

Collection Description: This collection expresses Mallorie’s love of tailoring and also allows her to use the skills she has learned at NC State to create garments for both men and women.  It is inspired by the famous gangster couple Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, as well as the fashions of the 1930s.  In this collection you will see garments that reference famous images of Bonnie and Clyde, in addition to pieces that are reminiscent of the time period.
