Describe the concept behind your collection
As a lover of all things vintage, I was inspired by a 50s cocktail party aesthetic when I started designing my collection. This came not just from the clothes but also the tablescapes, atmosphere, and general act of hosting. My goal with this collection is to create pieces that my childhood self would be proud of. To do this I am infusing the chic and elegant silhouettes of the 50s with elements of playfulness and whimsy. I am designing my own art and will be utilizing several of the development labs that the college has to offer. Dinner Party represents the melding of my work as a FDPM student, my childhood creativity, and the grandma in me that makes me think I should have been born in a different era.
