Bio

Haylee was born and raised in Cary, North Carolina, her heart and soul however have always belonged to the fashion capitals of the world.  She has combined her lifelong devotion to style and fashion with her need to create and express her own artistic personality for everyone to see.  She has been drawing fashion designs since she was a child and took every sewing and apparel class available to her during her years as a middle school and high school student.  She pursued her goal to attend NC State’s Wilson College of Textiles with a single-minded determination.  She is currently a senior in Fashion Development and Product Management concentrating her studies on Fashion Design. Her designs have been showcased in all the Threads pre-shows since her freshman year in the program.  She is part of the Phi Psi Professional Textile Fraternity and spent her last semester studying Fashion Illustration, Draping and Costume Design in Florence, Italy.  In addition to her education and studies both here and abroad, Haylee has worked as an intern for lingerie designer, Linda Hartman at the LINDA HARTMAN label in Raleigh since the fall of her junior year at NC State.  Working with a professional designer that has more than 35 years experience has given her the opportunity to learn more about every aspect of the industry.

Collection Description (Inspiration, Concept, Silhouettes, etc)

Haylee’s Collection is called LIBERATED.  It is a lingerie inspired collection that focuses on women, the roles they’ve played in society throughout the decades, and how those roles dictated their styles.  Each design is a tribute to those that paved the way for women today and a nod to their style and fashion along the way.  She has used inspiration from each decade since the 1940’s to create a line that shows how far women have come by incorporating their style into a line for today’s woman without restrictions. It is sexy AND powerful, allowing women to embrace their sexuality without fear. The line is a statement of “new wave feminism” allowing us to embrace our individuality as women.
