Dr. Mengmeng Zhu

I am an assistant professor in the department of textile engineering, chemistry and science, and operations research at NC State University. I received my PhD in industrial and systems engineering at Rutgers University in October 2018, and my MS in statistics and industrial and systems engineering at Rutgers University in October 2016 and January 2015. I have over six years of industry experience in manufacturing.

My research interests lie in the intersection of system design and verification, statistics, and artificial intelligence. I am particularly interested in theory and application research on system and software reliability, resilience, prognostics and health management of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), including Internet of Things, energy storage systems (Lithium-ion batteries), human-machine interaction, software development, and smart health.

I am a recipient of 2021-2022 Barbara S. Stowe Faculty Award, Best Paper Award at the 24th ISSAT International Conference on Reliability and Quality in Design, Toronto, Canada, 2018, Best Student Paper Award at the 23rd ISSAT International Conference on Reliability and Quality in Design, Chicago, 2017, and 2017 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad.
